Ring terminals come in a variety of configurations for both insulated ring terminals, and non-insulated ring terminals. Non-insulated ring terminals are typically the most economical.  Use these when no special characteristics or protection is required.  High temperature ring terminals are non-insulated, and are used in areas where the terminal will be exposed to continuous high temperatures.
